After nearly two years of arduous efforts, Zhongji Hongtu Company's LPG transport vehicle recently obtained the "European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR)" and "Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive (TPED)" certifications. Coupled with the ASME U/U2 certifications obtained by Hongtu Company in 1999 and 2012 respectively, Hongtu Company has become the only enterprise in China with design and manufacturing qualifications for medium-pressure tank trucks based on Chinese, American, and European standards. This means that "Hongtu brand" medium-pressure tank trucks have obtained sales qualifications in all countries worldwide, truly achieving global reach and widespread presence.
ADR was formulated by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in Geneva on September 30, 1957, and officially implemented on January 29, 1968, with a history of over forty years. TPED is a technical regulation specifically for transportable pressure equipment formulated by the European Parliament and Council. With economic and social development, both regulations are constantly revised, and the technical and safety requirements remain at the highest level in the world. In EU member states and countries that recognize European standards, road transport vehicles and pressure equipment for dangerous goods must have certificates issued by the EU. EU-authorized third-party inspection institutions conduct strict certification of the entire manufacturing process, including design, manufacturing, and inspection, issuing certificates for products that meet European standards. EU standards are the most stringent standards in the world for the design, manufacturing, and management of road transport vehicles for dangerous goods. Their requirements for product design, materials, manufacturing, and inspection are extremely stringent, making certification very difficult.
In recent years, Hongtu Company has leveraged the international market and brand advantages of its "Hongtu brand" LPG transport vehicles to drive the bulk export of LPG full-industry chain products overseas. Products have been exported to more than 40 countries and regions in Southeast Asia, Africa, the Americas, and Europe, winning widespread praise from international customers. However, these exported products were all designed and manufactured to American and Chinese standards, not European standards. To truly achieve global coverage for "Hongtu brand" medium-pressure tank trucks, the company decided to tackle the challenge of obtaining the "European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR)" and "Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive (TPED)" certifications.
As the first domestic enterprise to obtain certification for medium-pressure tank trucks, there was no relevant information or experience available domestically; everything had to start from scratch. The project team, led by the overseas technology department, utilized various channels to find relevant information from abroad, translating and learning independently, and organizing internal training. They worked day and night, repeatedly discussing unclear issues. After months of diligent work and four revisions, the complete set of drawings and calculation documents were finally approved by the EU inspection agency.
Tanker materials were also a major obstacle. European standards have extremely strict requirements for tanker materials, especially the main body materials. After much investigation, it was found that the performance of this type of tanker steel plate rolled by domestic steel mills was unstable, and initially, they refused to supply it. If imported materials were used, the price would be extremely high, resulting in poor competitiveness. Relevant senior executives of Hongtu Company personally negotiated with the steel mills, winning them over with sincerity. Both sides decided to jointly develop and promote the domestic production of this material. After repeated rolling and testing, and to everyone's expectation, the inspection agency finally approved this domestically produced main body steel plate material, marking another step towards victory.
Welding engineers and welders underwent training and examinations, welding assessments passed the inspection agency's review, process personnel compiled process procedures according to European standards, quality inspection strictly checked the appearance and dimensions, and non-destructive testing and water pressure tests were conducted according to European standards. All markings, nameplates, and materials required for certification were in accordance with European standards. With the strong support of the company's leadership and the unremitting efforts of the project team, on October 15, 2018, a brand-new, beautiful European standard "Hongtu brand" LPG transport vehicle made a dazzling appearance at the "Hongtu's Tenth Anniversary Celebration with CIMC" new product exhibition, attracting considerable attention from domestic and foreign customers. Many people stopped to take photos and inquire, and foreign customers and distributors who came to visit gave strong praise and eagerly sought information to promote it to transportation companies in their respective countries.

On April 28, 2025, a ceremony celebrating the 100th anniversary of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and awarding national model workers and advanced workers was held in Beijing. Comrade Li Zhongjiang from Jingmen Hongtu Company under CIMC Enric, as an outstanding representative of industry skills, stood on the podium of this supreme honor and was awarded the honorary title of National Model Worker by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council of the People's Republic of China.
