On April 22, 2022, China Classification Society (CCS) held a "cloud certification" ceremony for its high manganese austenitic low-temperature steel series products, combining online and offline participation. Relevant leaders from HBIS Group and Wuyang Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., CSSC No. 725 Research Institute, CIMC Enric Holdings Limited, Nantong CIMC Pacific Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd., Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co., Ltd., Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. Equipment Manufacturing Branch, Wuhan Innovation Jianghai Transportation Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Dongpeng Shipbuilding & Repairing Co., Ltd., and some other entities attended the certification ceremony via video conference. Xu Taifu, Deputy Director of the Product Inspection Department of CCS Wuhan Branch, Senior Engineer Wu Zhaohui, and Project Surveyor Chen Shuo represented CCS and personally attended the meeting at Jingmen Hongtu. Zheng Zhijun, General Manager of Jingmen Hongtu Co., Ltd., Xiao Xuewen, Deputy General Manager, and other relevant leaders of the company also attended the meeting.

Fan Qiang, Vice President of CCS, attended the "cloud certification" event via video and delivered a speech. He pointed out that the factory approval certificates issued during this "cloud certification" for 725 Institute's high manganese steel welding materials, HBIS Wuyang Steel's high manganese steel plates, and CIMC Jingmen Hongtu's high manganese steel storage tanks are all the first CCS approval certificates in China for similar high manganese austenitic low-temperature steel products. This marks the successful development of domestic high manganese austenitic low-temperature steel, providing a feasible solution for material innovation in domestic LNG-powered ships. It is also a successful example of CCS working with the industry to grasp the new development stage, implement new development concepts, serve and integrate into the new development paradigm, and promote high-quality development.

Subsequently, Wang Qihong, Director of 725 Institute, and Li Yiren, Deputy General Manager of HBIS Group, delivered speeches respectively and expressed their expectations for the next steps of the high manganese steel project team.

Subsequently, Zheng Zhijun, General Manager of CIMC Jingmen Hongtu, delivered a speech at the certification conference. He pointed out that given China's resource background of "nickel deficiency" and "manganese richness," the research, development, and application of high-performance high manganese austenitic low-temperature steel has become a top priority. More than 10 entities and higher education institutions, including China Classification Society, CSIC 725 Institute, HBIS Group Wuyang Steel, Jingmen Hongtu, Atlantic Welding Materials Co., Ltd., Harbin Engineering University, and Northeastern University, jointly built a collaborative platform for industry, academia, research, inspection, and application. Through technological innovation, they successfully promoted breakthroughs in key technologies for the production and engineering application of high manganese steel, making significant contributions to the national steel industry's safety strategy. With the joint efforts of the entire project team, the trial production of high manganese steel was successfully completed. Next, Jingmen Hongtu Co., Ltd. will continue to work with the project team and partners to promote the mass application of high manganese steel.

Xu Taifu, Deputy Director of the Product Inspection Department of CCS Wuhan Branch, and his delegation, accompanied by Xiao Xuewen, Deputy General Manager of Hongtu Co., Ltd., visited the exhibition hall, the Hongtu Green Manufacturing Management Platform and LPG Pump-equipped Vehicle Manufacturing Unit Management System, the LNG Marine Fuel Tank Production Line, the Small Tank Production Line, and a batch of LNG marine tanks to be shipped soon.
