In August 2021, the Guangdong Provincial Government Office issued the "Guangdong Provincial Overall Work Plan for Improving Inland River Navigation Capacity and Promoting Green Development of Inland River Navigation," "Guangdong Provincial Implementation Plan for Improving Inland River Navigation Capacity," and "Guangdong Provincial Implementation Plan for Green Development Demonstration Projects of Inland River Navigation," vigorously promoting the green development of inland river navigation and the application of liquefied natural gas (LNG)-powered vessels. As one of the main participating units in this plan, CIMC Group is responsible for promoting the transformation of inland vessels to LNG power and creating a demonstration project for LNG applications in inland vessels.
Jingmen Hongtu, as a member of CIMC Enric, is honored to be responsible for the transformation project of inland river vessel tanks. Zheng Zhijun, general manager of the company, stated that the dream of "greening the Yangtze River" and even "greening China" is becoming a reality for Hongtu people. On December 24, the first batch of 5m³ LNG ship tanks for the "Guangdong Provincial Inland River Navigation Green Development Demonstration Project Vessel LNG Power Transformation" project, implemented by Jingmen Hongtu, was successfully shipped. This marks a step closer to Hongtu's goal of creating a high-quality and demonstration project for LNG power transformation, which is of great significance to the company's long-term development.
Since 2012, Hongtu Company has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Wuhan Branch of China Classification Society and the Wuhan Standardization Institute of China Classification Society. The company has taken advantage of this platform to participate in the "Gasification of the Yangtze River" project launched by PetroChina Kunlun Energy Changjiang Company in China, which has played a significant role in promoting the development of Hongtu's LNG shipping business. Hongtu has successfully established its brand reputation for ship tank products with its excellent manufacturing technology. Currently, the company can undertake 5m³-100m³ LNG ship tanks, ship security control systems, LNG bunkering barges, and shore-based bunkering stations, ranking among the market leaders.
Creating new energy vessels and stimulating the "green" power of inland river navigation. From the moment the project task was received, the company immediately launched a comprehensive deployment of key projects, establishing a key special project task force headed by General Manager Zheng Zhijun to arrange and deploy specific work, clarify departmental responsibilities, and conduct daily inspections of key nodes such as product design, drawing review, raw material procurement, manufacturing progress, product quality, delivery time, on-site installation, and commissioning services. The project team is also required to submit a summary report on the progress of the ship tank project every Friday. Through technical leadership, the company, in conjunction with the Wuhan Branch of China Classification Society, conducts full-process quality control of products, strictly adheres to product quality and safety, and strives to ensure the high-quality completion of the Guangdong Provincial Ship LNG Power Transformation Project.
Zheng Zhijun, general manager of the company, pointed out that in the future, the energy structure of the shipping industry will present a diversified situation, and various alternative energies will "bloom and contend." The number of LNG-fueled ships in new shipbuilding orders surged globally in 2021.
