Technological Innovation Leads Industry Development - Jingmen Hongtu Wins First Prize in the Second National Mechanical Design Innovation Competition for Petroleum and Petrochemical Equipment

As a top-tier event in the field of mechanical engineering design, the 2021 "Huachen Cup" Second National Mechanical Industry Design Innovation Competition, jointly hosted by the China Mechanical Industry Federation and the All-China Federation of Trade Unions Mechanical Metallurgy and Building Materials Trade Union, was officially launched on August 12 at the Mechanical Industry Information Research Institute. This competition, themed "Design Innovation, Intelligent Manufacturing for the Future," aims to build a platform for mechanical industry design innovation guided by the government, serving the industry, with enterprises and universities as the main players, and with social participation. It seeks to strengthen the dissemination of industrial design concepts, advanced design, and innovative technologies, promoting industry transformation and upgrading, and achieving high-quality development. This competition has two categories: product group and creative group.
CIMC Jingmen Hongtu Company, as a leading enterprise in national pressure vessels, arranged personnel from its technology management center to select two design works to participate in the product group and creative group competitions respectively. In addition to providing 3D design drawings, participation required providing design concepts, innovative ideas, promotional videos, and other materials needed for evaluation. Through the joint efforts of the company's participating technical personnel and organizers, the two entries, "LNG Ship Double Cold Box Fuel Tank" and "Lightweight Low-Center-of-Gravity Safe Liquefied Gas Tank Truck," both won first prize in the petrochemical equipment division of the "Second National Mechanical Design Innovation Competition."
The work "LNG Ship Double Cold Box Fuel Tank" is mainly used on new natural gas-fueled ships, providing safe and stable natural gas fuel for gas fuel engines. The successful research and development and industrialization of this product has accumulated a large amount of key technologies and application data for our company in the application of natural gas on water. This has promoted energy conservation and emission reduction in the shipping industry and the implementation of national clean energy policies and environmental optimization management.
The work "Lightweight Low-Center-of-Gravity Safe Liquefied Gas Tank Truck" uses a variable-diameter tank body. While maintaining the height of the tractor unchanged, by lowering the center of gravity of the tank body and walking mechanism, it effectively improves driving stability by about 5%. The double spherical head structure saves materials compared to the conventional elliptical head structure, reducing the overall weight of the tank truck and lowering the wind resistance coefficient, thus improving the safety of the tank truck during transportation.
The company's achievement of this honor is a result of the technology department's implementation of General Manager Zheng Zhijun's strategic concept of "adhering to independent innovation as the core driving force." This aligns with the deployment requirements of winning the battles to upgrade industrial foundations, modernize the industrial chain, and advance informatization, by identifying the entry points for design innovation and striving for breakthroughs.

On April 28, 2025, a ceremony celebrating the 100th anniversary of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and awarding national model workers and advanced workers was held in Beijing. Comrade Li Zhongjiang from Jingmen Hongtu Company under CIMC Enric, as an outstanding representative of industry skills, stood on the podium of this supreme honor and was awarded the honorary title of National Model Worker by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council of the People's Republic of China. To commemorate the 106th anniversary of the May Fourth Movement, on April 26, the Youth League Committee of CIMC Enric's Jingmen Hongtu Company organized a youth exchange activity for young employees themed "General's Spirit Illuminates the Original Aspiration, Youth Chasing Dreams in the Right Time".
