On July 3rd, 2021, CIMC ENRIC HONGTU’s 2*5000m³ LPG Tanks in Nigeria completed and received high compliments from Client!!!
These projects commenced when the spread of Covid-19 lessened a bit and countries started reopening their borders. As a site representative from CIMC ENRIC HOGNTU’s Overseas Department, I submitted the letter for assignment to work on site with the Project Divisions. With strict pandemic prevention measures taken, we went abroad against the risk with defiance. At overseas project, through thick and thin, we actively involved in the site works. I witnessed the powerful actions taken by project teams which expressed their sincere respect to company’s General Manager, Zheng Zhijun and presented their gift to the great CPC’s centenary!
Memories are still fresh when I’m looking back. Despite the ravaging pandemic and raging tensions going on in West Africa, since the mobilization of the team for the A project on December 2nd, 2020, our team upheld the value of “Quality First serves Customer First” and striving forward against all odds. Our team on the ground attached strong importance to pandemic prevention and planning of the works. The efforts guaranteed safety and health for the team and ensured the project completed within Time Schedule. From Client, supervisors and local community, we received countless compliments for the speed and quality we delivered.
As A project’s tank works completed, the King from Ibasa/Ijegun EGBA community endowed a honorary Chief title to the project manager Liu for the recognition and gratitude towards the job opportunities we offered and the positive impact the project will have to the local community in the future. A grand ceremony was hosted for the occasion. Actually this is the second time Liu receives honorary Chief title since 2018 from Ethiope West in Delta state. As overseas Project Manager and received Honorary Chiefs twice, it will contribute to the business expansion, building of company brand awareness and influence in West Africa.
Project Manger Liu receives Honorary Chief title for the second time in 2021
Liu received his first Honorary Chief title in 2018
Honorary Chief title is local community’s thanks to the job opportunities created from CIMC ENRIC HONGTU and the long-term impact the project has to them in the future. As an international green energy infrastructure builder and participant in the “Belt and Road Initiative ” that involves 50 countries, CIMC ENRIC HONGTU pays full attention to social responsibility and community relationship. With considerations to the previous experiences with community challenges, we visited the King when we first arrived. The approach cleared the possible external risk in the following months. During the execution of the works, we established harmonious relationship with the community and they helped us on multiple occasions. The Client expressed their appreciation on the Chinese wisdom for friendly neighborhood relationship. This practice also enabled us to find a localization and marketing path that suits to our company’s characteristics.
With the completion of the tank works, the A project achieved breaking progress. At the same time, the piping team mobilized on site in June and commenced their works with efficient planning and execution. Product pumps, hydrant pumps and part of process laying is completed. The rest of the team will be on site in the middle of the month and the whole team will strive to the completion of the terminal and deliver the project to the Client.
Piping works are ongoing
The completion of this project will help the Client get a head start in the local LPG market and accelerate the energy transition from oil to gas in the industry. In addition, with the increasing awareness of sustainable development and carbon neutral among people, the project is also an exercise for CIMC’s strategy for “Green Development and Green Supply Chain.” With more LPG projects completed, CIMC ENRIC HONGTU is making its own contributions to the fight against climate change and the goal of carbon neutral.
